The
Kona Brewers Festival is an annual event held each March
designed to promote the craft brewing revolution in Hawaii,
encourage professional brewers and chefs to work together
as an industry and have a positive economic and environmental
effect on the community.
The
event debuted in 1996 to celebrate the birthday of Kona
Brewing Company, foster Hawaii's increasing interest in
the craft brewing industry and promote recycling. Over
the years, it has become one of Kailua-Kona's - and the
state of Hawaii's - premier events and has raised nearly
$300,000 for local environmental and cultural organizations.
