Kona
Brewers Festival Homebrew Competition
The Kona Brewers Festival Homebrew Competition is a
local competition sanctioned by the American Homebrewers
Association recognizing the most outstanding homebrewed
beer, mead and cider being produced by amateur brewers.
Judges come from all over the United States to evaluate
the entries using the AHA National Style Guidelines
(BJCP) for 28 different styles of beers, meads and ciders.
Anyone
is welcome to enter. Most of the entries come from the
Big Island, but there are also entries from other Hawaiian
Islands, from the mainland U.S. and a few international
entries. To enter you must send in an entry form, $5
and two bottles of your beer for each entry. You will
receive a score sheet with an evaluation of each entry.
